Walking from the Register Office to The Petersham takes about 20-25 min. - Turn right outside the Register office on Mount Ararat Rd towards Paradise Rd
- Turn left onto Paradise Rd
- As you pass the Paradise Road Wine Bar, turn left onto Church Terrace
- Turn right onto Ormond Rd
- At the end of Ormond Rd, you'll emerge opposite Bar Estilo
- At this point go straight ahead towards the bridge and just before the river turn left to a very pleasant walk along the riverside
- After 0.4 mile, when you reach the public restrooms, turn left off the river and then to the right you will see Nightingale Lane, which is the hill up to The Petersham Hotel
Alternatively, for a slightly shorter but less scenic walk you can simply turn left along Petersham Road at the end of Ormond Rd, and then after 0.4 mile turn left onto Nightingale Lane, which is the hill up to The Petersham Hotel
